These features can help customers monitor their overall well-being and take their bike rides to the next level.

Free feature updates
Smartwatches
- Health status: See whether health metrics like heart rate, HRV, respiration, skin temperature1 and Pulse Ox2 while sleeping are trending away from their usual range right on the smartwatch and in the Garmin Connect™ app. These changes could indicate added stress to the body and could be related to physical activity, potential illness and more. Additionally, users with compatible smartwatches can access the Health Status feature in the Garmin Connect app3.
Cycling computers
- Smart fueling alerts: Receive prompts to hydrate and refuel in-ride based on current fitness, course demands, heat and humidity4 when using power guide or following a workout.
- Real-time weather overlays: Monitor the weather and make more informed decisions in-ride with radar and wind direction overlays4.
- Power guide updates: While riding with a power meter, manage efforts with recommended power targets based on real-time stamina and wind4. For mountain rides or races, power guide will now also consider altitude acclimation and adjust power targets accordingly.
- Gear ratio analysis: See time spent in each gear ratio following a ride (when paired with electronic shifting).
- GroupRide data comparisons: See how speed, heart rate, power, cadence and more compare to other riders in the group, in addition to existing GroupRide4 features that let cyclists compete, communicate and stay connected with their fellow riders.
The free software updates have started to roll out to compatible devices. Customers can update their smartwatch or Edge by enabling automatic updates from their device and syncing with Garmin Connect, or by using Garmin Express™.
